Small Boat Regatta, July 29, 30 & 31, 2022
Twenty three boats from our club and surrounding districts took part in an exciting Regatta on the Pumicestone Passage over the last weekend in July. The Regatta was held to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Founding of the Bribie Island Sailing Club. The fleet raced up to Mission Point with a strong following wind for an enjoyable BBQ lunch in the National Park. The return race to a point close to Pacific Harbour was a challenging sail into strong winds. Many boats berthed overnight in the Pacific Harbour Marina.
All the crews got together for a meal in the Banksia Room at the Bribie Island Hotel on the Saturday night. We were pleased to have the founder Commodore of the club, Horrie Hunt and his wife Kay with us.
Sunday morning saw a race around the buoys with fickle winds followed by presentation of the trophies in the Compound.
Happy Sailing!
Jim Thomson – Commodore
